How does an electric infrared heater work?
An electric infrared heater is a device that converts electrical energy into infrared radiation and thus heats objects or people. This creates a balanced microclimate of air and radiant heat that is perceived as very pleasant.
The principle behind every electric infrared heater is simple: The heater converts electrical energy into infrared radiation, which then hits the illuminated surfaces and is converted into heat there. The heat is not transferred through the air but is emitted directly to the objects or people. This means that there is no heat loss.
An electric infrared heater has several advantages over other heating systems, such as:
- It generates a quick and pleasant heat that acts directly on the illuminated surfaces without heating or moving the air. This saves energy and avoids dust turbulence and dry air.
- It is easy to install and operate, as it does not require a complex flue system like a gas radiant heater.
- It is low-maintenance and long-lasting because it has no moving parts. It has a high efficiency, as almost 100% of the electrical energy is converted into heat.
- It is flexible to use as it is available in different sizes and power levels. It can be mounted on the wall and on the ceiling. It can be used either as an additional heater (hybrid system) or as the main heater.
